Petco Foundation Grant Received! Thanks to a
generous $2500 grant received from Petco Foundation, we were able to help
off-set the cost to transform an out-building into a safe-haven doggie
condo on the property of one of our volunteers.
The
funds were used to pour a concrete floor, finish the interior and
exterior walls, install fencing, windows and doggie doors. We were also
able to purchase supplies to help provide shade and comfort to the
dogs.
The
intent of this building is to have the ability to pull more dogs from
the shelter who are at risk of being killed, deliver them to this
property and allow them to "decompress" for awhile. During their stay,
they are monitored for any medical issues, examined by a local vet, and
spayed / neutered.
When
the dogs are ready for adoption, they are moved into private foster
homes where they are socialized with other dogs and people, begin basic
potty and manners training, and start attending our adoption events on
Saturday's.
Thanks to Petco Foundation, Animal Rescue Recon can continue to save more dogs from needless killing because ALL LIVES MATTER!
